School of Ceramics Kickstarter Project Launched!

We are so excited to be counting down the last few months until the opening of the school. Spring has arrived in Tuscarawas county, the dogwoods will soon be blooming and everything is bursting with color. What that means for the Radca Ranch School of Ceramics is that the ground work has begun to build the dorm where the students will reside during their week long ceramics classes that begin on July 9, 2016.

The studio space, glazing room, and kilns are ready to go for this year’s classes.

Now we are ready to build the dorm for our students. The shell of the structure is already there; the barn that the Amish built for Tom in 1995. It will be repurposed to provide 5 semi-private dorm rooms, fully equipped bathrooms and kitchen, and lounge area. And, there will be an outdoor shower too, for those who want to take in the beauty of the surrounding forrest.

Crews were on site in early April trenching and laying plumbing lines.Next will be the concrete floor, and by May the framing will be underway. The interior will be finished with pine cut from trees that were planted by Tom 20+ years ago.

We're hoping to get a financial boost for this project with our just-launched Kickstarter project. Check it out - we can use your help in any way possible!
